Perchance AI NSFW: Rules, Safety and Adult Chat Alternatives

Perchance does not publish a rule for or against NSFW chat. Its terms say users must be 18 or older, and its AI text plugin page warns the model may produce adult-themed content when prompted with adult terms. Chats in its AI chat generators are stored in your browser, not on Perchance's servers.

Below is what Perchance's pages say on adult content, data and safety, plus four adult chat apps whose own rules allow adult content between adults. I read every page cited on November 1, 2026.

This is desk research. I read Perchance's terms, privacy policy, FAQ, plugin pages and both chat generators, plus each alternative's own pricing page, content rules and help center. I created no accounts and sent no messages, so nothing here judges reply quality. Our method is on the how we review page.

What is Perchance?

Perchance is a free platform where anyone can build and share small generators, and its terms note that every page is a fork of another, except one. The FAQ is written by one developer who is not named. They say they run Perchance as a public good, will never sell it, and will likely never ship an app.

Perchance AI chat and AI character chat

The two chat generators most people mean are AI Chat and AI Character Chat. Both promise free, unlimited use with no sign-up. AI Chat calls itself a demonstration of Perchance's AI text plugin, and AI Character Chat lets you create characters and share them by link. The plugin page says the model runs on server GPUs paid for by ads.

Does Perchance allow NSFW?

Perchance's terms of service, last updated July 18, 2026, contain no rule that allows or bans adult content between adults. That rule is not published. The terms do set two narrower rules. Users must be 18 or older, and contributions must not break laws protecting minors, including laws on child sexual abuse material.

The plugin pages are the closest thing to a content policy. The AI text plugin page says the model may produce NSFW or adult-themed content if prompted with those terms, compares this to a Google search, and asks people to prompt responsibly. The AI Character Chat description advertises no message limits and no filter, yet shared character links are uploaded to Perchance's servers and checked by a moderation system that can reject them as disallowed content. Its rejection message expects shared characters to be explicitly 18 or older and warns that the system can make mistakes when a character's age is ambiguous. When a new visitor opens a shared character whose text includes mature terms, AI Character Chat shows a warning asking anyone under 18 to click cancel.

What about Perchance's image generators?

This guide covers chat, so here are only the image rules. The text-to-image plugin page says the model can return adult-themed results if prompted with such terms. Images are stored only if saved to a public gallery, where owners can set a G or PG-13 filter and ban users and prompt phrases.

Is Perchance AI safe?

Chatting needs no account, so Perchance holds little about you. The risks sit elsewhere.

Your chats live in your browser

AI Chat says chats are kept in your browser or device storage only. AI Character Chat says the same and warns that clearing site data or cache deletes your chats and characters, and that browsers sometimes clear data automatically. It tells users to export backups regularly. The privacy policy confirms the AI text plugin stores nothing on the server, although save buttons that use its upload plugin do.

Anonymous, but not invisible

The privacy policy says logging in does not link your account to AI requests, yet its servers record your IP address and browser for abuse detection and statistics. Ads from partners including Google and Ezoic run in sandboxed frames that cannot read what you type. The policy also says personal information collected through ads, such as cookie IDs and device data, may be sold. California residents can opt out.

Every page is someone's code

The privacy policy's sharpest line says anyone can create a generator, so you should treat each page like a random page on the internet and never enter private or sensitive data. That applies to any chat generator forked from the two above. Check the domain too. Perchanceai.art is a separate site that says it is not affiliated with Perchance.org.

The age gate is a sentence

The terms bar anyone under 18 and suggest parental-control apps but describe no age check, and the warning on shared characters is one click. Disputes go to binding arbitration in Singapore, with class actions waived.

Perchance alternatives for adult chat

OurDream.ai

OurDream suits adults who want images and video alongside chat. Its home page says it is adults only and allows NSFW images and videos, while banning content involving minors, characters that look underage, deepfakes and real-person lookalikes. The plan is $19.99 a month with 1,000 dreamcoins at once and 1,000 a month after, or $119.88 a year with 2,000 at once and 1,000 a month after.

The downsides are real. Images and video cost coins. Standard images cost 10 coins for 2 and standard video 100 coins per 5 seconds, so 1,000 coins covers about 200 images or 50 seconds of video. The Genius chat models cost 1 coin per response. Free users pay 1 coin per message and need a subscription for images, video or buying coins. The home page claims end-to-end encryption, while the privacy policy describes AES at rest and TLS in transit, a different promise. Nothing is refunded once more than 25% of a product is used, and crypto payments cannot be refunded.

JanitorAI

JanitorAI fits text roleplay on a budget. Its content guidelines permit adult content between consenting adult characters, but images showing sexual activity or nudity are not allowed. Users must be 18 or older, and anyone reasonably suspected of being younger is permanently banned. The free plan has about 9k context, and the pricing page says free stays free. Janitor+ costs $12.99 a month or $99 a year and adds five times the context and faster replies when the site is busy.

SpicyChat

SpicyChat has the cheapest paid plan here. Its community guidelines require chatbots with explicit language or imagery to be marked NSFW, ban photorealistic explicit images, and say all users must be at least 18 and all chatbots portrayed as adults. Its help center says core features remain free. US prices since September 8, 2026 start at $5.95 a month or $60 a year for Get A Taste and reach $29.95 a month for I'm All In.

CrushOn

CrushOn publishes the most detailed free limits. Free accounts get 100 message credits a month, 8K memory and 200 saved messages per character, and free chat history is deleted after 7 days of inactivity. Paid plans run from $5.99 a month for Standard to $199.99 a month for Imperial. Its guidelines limit the service to users 18 and older, permit implied but not explicit sexual imagery, and ban characters whose age is not clearly over 18, including aged-up characters. Human moderators and automated systems review accounts, characters and chats.

Verdict: is Perchance AI worth it for adult chat?

Perchance is a free, ad-funded chat option with no sign-up, and its AI Chat and AI Character Chat pages keep conversations in your browser rather than on its servers. On the NSFW question, its terms publish no rule either way. They limit use to adults 18 and over without describing any age check, and its AI text plugin page says the model may produce adult-themed content when prompted. That makes Perchance a fair pick for adults who value anonymity and accept three trade-offs: chats vanish if browser data is cleared, ad partners may collect device data, and any generator may be a stranger's code. If you want written adult content rules and saved history, JanitorAI suits free text roleplay, SpicyChat has the cheapest paid plan, and CrushOn publishes the clearest free limits. OurDream.ai, which pays us, suits adults who want images and video, but it meters both with coins and limits refunds.
