OurDream AI is free to sign up for, but chatting on a free account costs coins. Its help center says free users pay 1 dreamcoin per message, cannot make images or videos, and cannot buy more coins. It does not say how many coins a free account starts with. Paid plans cost $19.99 a month or $119.88 a year.
Below is what OurDream's own pages say you get without paying, what they leave out, and when the paid plan is worth it. OurDream also calls itself Our Dream AI, so a search for "our dream ai free" lands on the same site.
This updates our OurDream AI review of October 31, 2026, which said OurDream publishes no free limits or coin costs. Its help center, read for this guide, does publish a coin price list and the cost of a free message. The free starting balance is still missing.

How I checked it
I did not create an account, so nothing here describes using OurDream. It is built from OurDream's published pages, read on November 1, 2026, and the checks on our how we review page. Help center articles carry their own edit dates, which I give where they matter. Where OurDream publishes nothing, I say so instead of borrowing a number from another site.
Is OurDream AI free?
Free to join, and partly free to use. The home page invites you to "Sign up for free today" and has a Join Free button. Before you enter, you confirm you are 18 or older. In the UK and Australia, its safety center adds an identity check through Go.cam or AgeVerif "regardless of their plan".
Once you are in, the help center's coin guide, last edited March 2, 2026, and two shorter articles set out the free rules:
- Free users pay "1 dreamcoin per message", while subscriber chats cost nothing.
- Without a subscription you "will not have access to the majority" of the features the guide prices.
- Generating images and videos needs a subscription.
- Buying dreamcoins needs an active subscription.
So the free plan is a chat sample paid in coins you cannot buy more of, and its length depends on the one number OurDream does not print. The privacy policy sets no separate rules for free accounts and lists training its AI models among the uses of your data.
OurDream AI free limits: what the pages leave out
Three things a free user would want to know are missing from every OurDream page I read:
- How many dreamcoins a new free account starts with, which decides how many free messages you get.
- Whether a free account can build its own character. The coin guide prices a new chatbot at 10 dreamcoins, but it is written for subscribers.
- Whether there is a free trial of the paid plan. None of the pages I read mention one.
On free coins, the help center contradicts itself. A 2025 article points to Discord contests, while a community-written FAQ edited in August 2026 says referrals are the only way.
Some review sites put a number on the free plan. They don't cite OurDream and don't agree with each other, so I leave them out. The only reliable way to see your free limit is to sign up free and look at your account before you chat. You can leave without paying anything.
What the paid plan adds
The home page FAQ and a help article on monthly and annual plans, edited July 17, 2026, list two plans. Both include unlimited messages with any character and access to image and video generation.

Paying changes three things. Chat stops costing coins, images and video open up, and you can buy extra coins. Images and video still draw on coins, though, and the coin guide prices them:
- Standard images cost 10 coins for 2 images.
- An image inside a chat costs 5 coins.
- Voice calls cost 50 coins a minute.
- Standard video costs 100 coins per 5 seconds, up to 60 seconds for 1,200 coins.
- Ultra quality video costs 200 coins per video.
- A character's community pack costs 250, 750 or 1,000 coins, by pack size.
In plain numbers, a month's 1,000 coins covers about 200 standard images, or 50 seconds of standard video, or 20 minutes of voice calls. The home page says the included coins cover "all your needs including videos". That holds for light use. A single 60-second video costs more than a whole month's allowance.
Refunds on the paid plan
OurDream's refund policy, last modified March 9, 2026, says:
- You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- Unused parts of a billing period are "generally non-refundable" unless the law says otherwise.
- Faults must be reported to support@ourdream.ai within 14 days and are judged case by case.
- Users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland can withdraw within 14 days, but may lose that right once they start using the service.
- Crypto payments are final.
- A chargeback filed without contacting support first may get your account suspended.
The help center's refund article, edited February 13, 2026, adds a rule the policy leaves out. Nothing is refunded once more than 25% of a product is used, so a monthly plan cannot be refunded once its coins are spent, while a yearly plan may get a full or partial refund. A refund also removes unused coins and blurs your images and videos.
How to cancel OurDream AI
The help center gives three steps:
- Go to your profile page at ourdream.ai/profile.
- Click Cancel subscription.
- Confirm the cancellation.
Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for, and cancelling does not trigger a refund on its own. Two things to know first:
- After you unsubscribe, your images and videos are blurred until you subscribe again, and so are any community packs. Download anything you want to keep.
- The help center is unclear on coins. The cancellation article says unused coins last until the billing period ends and are not restored if you resubscribe. The article on expired plans says "Coins do not expire!" Until OurDream settles it, spend your coins before your plan ends.
When paying is worth it
Pay when the free plan stops you doing the thing you came for. The free account can show you how a character writes. Images and video have no free route, so the real question is which plan:
- Start monthly if you are unsure. Six months on the monthly plan costs $119.94, six cents more than a year upfront, so the yearly plan only pays off if you stay six months or longer.
- Count your coins if video is the point. At 100 coins per 5 seconds, 1,000 coins a month buys under a minute of standard video.
- Skip paying if you mainly want long chats for free. An app with a free tier that keeps going is a better fit.
Free alternatives with published limits

- Nomi. An article on Nomi's site says free accounts get two images a day and that creating a Nomi never asks for billing details. It does not publish a daily message count. Paid plans start at $15.99 a month.
- Kindroid. Its documentation describes a one-time preview of 50 messages, or 15 in some regions, plus 5 selfies and up to 2 Kindroids. When the preview runs out, the account turns read-only.
- Candy AI. Its terms say free users can generally send 5 messages. Our Candy AI review covers its tokens and refunds.
Kindroid and Candy are previews too, but they state the size of the preview before you sign up. Nomi comes closest to a free tier you can keep using.
Verdict: is OurDream AI free enough, or worth paying for?
OurDream AI is free to join and free to try, but only for chat, and only for as many messages as your starting coins cover. OurDream does not publish that starting balance, so the honest advice is to sign up free and look before you spend. The paid plan is clearer. At $19.99 a month or $119.88 a year it removes the per-message cost, opens up images and video, and adds 1,000 coins a month, and its help center publishes what each image, video clip and voice minute costs. Two things count against it. Video uses coins fast, so the home page line that the coins cover all your needs holds only for light use. And refunds are narrow, with unused time generally not refunded and monthly plans refused once their coins are spent. Choose OurDream if you want chat, images and video under one plan. Choose Nomi if staying free matters more.
