OurDream AI Review 2026: Prices, Rules and Privacy Checked

OurDream AI is an 18+ AI companion site from Dream Studio USA, Inc., at $19.99 a month or $119.88 a year. Plans include 1,000 monthly coins for images and video, and its rules and coin costs are published. Two gaps matter. Free chat costs a coin per message from an unpublished balance, and its encryption claim contradicts its privacy pages.

This OurDream AI review checks the things that decide whether it is worth paying for: the real cost over a year, what the free plan gives you, the adult content rules, age checks, privacy, refunds and the terms you agree to at sign-up.

How I reviewed it

I did not create an account for this review, so nothing here describes using the app. It is built from OurDream's own published pages, read on October 31, 2026, plus the eight checks on our how we review page. Where OurDream does not publish something, I say so instead of filling the gap with a number from another site.

A correction. The first version of this review said OurDream does not publish its free limits or what each action costs in coins. Its help center does publish both, apart from how many coins a free account starts with. I updated the review on November 1, 2026 to use them.

OurDream AI pricing: what you actually pay

The yearly plan halves the monthly rate, but only if you stay. Here is the arithmetic:

A full year on the monthly plan costs $239.88, exactly twice the yearly price.
Six months on the monthly plan costs $119.94, six cents more than a full year upfront. So the yearly plan pays off if you would stay six months or longer.
If you quit after two months, the monthly plan has cost you $39.98. The yearly plan has cost you $119.88, and OurDream's refund policy says unused time is generally not refunded.
In year one, the yearly plan gives you 13,000 dreamcoins against 12,000 on the monthly plan.

OurDream sells extra coins too, through a "Buy Coins" link, but its help center says you need an active subscription to buy them. The pages I read did not show coin pack prices.

Is OurDream AI free? The "5 message limit" question

You can sign up for free, and OurDream's help center sets out what that gets you:

Free users pay 1 dreamcoin per chat message, according to its coin guide, last edited March 2, 2026. Subscriber chats cost nothing.
Generating images and videos needs a subscription.
Buying dreamcoins needs an active subscription.

What no OurDream page says is how many coins a new free account starts with, so the number of free messages is not published. Some review sites quote free limits and even list paid tiers that don't appear on OurDream's pricing. Treat any free message count you see as unconfirmed until you sign up and check your coin balance. Dreamcoins, images and OurDream AI videos

Both plans include unlimited messages on the standard chat models, access to image and video generation, and 1,000 dreamcoins a month. Dreamcoins are OurDream's in-app credits, and images, video and voice all spend them. The help center's coin guide lists what subscribers pay:

Standard chat costs nothing. The Genius and Lively Genius models cost 1 coin per response.
Standard images cost 10 coins for 2 images, and an image inside a chat costs 5 coins.
Voice calls cost 50 coins a minute, and premium narration voices cost 5 coins per paragraph.
Standard video costs 100 coins per 5 seconds, up to 60 seconds for 1,200 coins. Ultra quality video costs 200 coins.
Creating a chatbot costs 10 coins, and a character's community pack costs 250, 750 or 1,000 coins.

In plain numbers, 1,000 monthly coins covers about 200 standard images, or 50 seconds of standard video, or 20 minutes of voice calls. So the unlimited part of the plan is standard chat, and pictures, video and voice are metered. A single 60-second video costs more than a month's allowance. The help center also contradicts itself on whether unused coins expire when a plan ends, so spend them before you cancel. If video is the main reason you want OurDream, the monthly plan is the cheaper way to find out whether 1,000 coins a month is enough.

Making a character, and how memory works

OurDream lets you build a companion in a realistic or anime style. Its FAQ lists the parts you can set: face, body, hair, clothing and accessories for the look, then personality traits, interests, communication style and the relationship dynamic, plus a voice. It says companions remember past chats, but it doesn't publish how far back that memory reaches.

The public or private setting matters more than it looks. OurDream's safety center says images generated with public characters go into a public character pack, with metadata removed. Its privacy policy adds that if a public character becomes popular enough, OurDream may keep it running even after you delete your account. If you want what you make to stay yours, keep characters private.

OurDream AI NSFW rules: what is allowed and what is banned

OurDream allows adult content for users who are 18 or older. Its prohibited-content policy then draws firm lines. It bans:

Anything involving minors, judged on the whole picture rather than a stated age, with violations reported to NCMEC, the IWF and Australia's ACCCE
Real people, including celebrities
Excessive gore in images and video
Content about suicide, self-harm or eating disorders
Bestiality
Non-consent presented as something desirable

OurDream describes five layers of moderation: checks on what you type, checks on what the AI produces, metadata and behaviour signals, human reviewers, and community reports. It says automated classifiers process all content, including private chats, which matters for the privacy section below.

Age verification

Everyone confirms they are over 18 when they sign up. Where the law requires more, including under the UK's Online Safety Act and in Australia, OurDream uses Go.cam or AgeVerif to check age. Depending on the method, that can be a facial age estimate, a selfie with a liveness check, an ID document or a credit card. OurDream says it receives only a pass or fail result and keeps no ID, selfie or video.

Privacy: the encryption claim that doesn't add up

OurDream's home page FAQ says chats are protected by end-to-end encryption and that no one can read them, "not even us". Its other pages describe something different:

The privacy policy, last modified August 26, 2026, says data is encrypted at rest and in transit using AES and TLS 1.3. That is standard protection, but it is not end-to-end encryption.
The safety center says automated classifiers process all content, including private chats, and that third-party AI model providers process the messages you send.
Staff can see chats with your consent or under a lawful request.
The privacy policy lists training its AI and machine learning models among the uses of your information.

End-to-end encryption means only the two ends of a conversation can read it. A companion app has to read your messages in order to reply, so the home page claim can't be true in the usual sense of the term. I would rely on the privacy policy and safety center, which are more specific.

On the plus side, OurDream says it does not sell your chats, and its privacy policy says it does not sell personal information as Nevada law defines a sale. You can delete your account in Settings under Account management, or by emailing trust@ourdream.ai. As with any companion app, keep real names, addresses and photos of real people out of your chats. Refunds, cancellation and the fine print

OurDream's refund policy, last modified March 9, 2026, says:

You can cancel anytime, and your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
Unused time is "generally non-refundable".
Technical problems should be reported within 14 days. Refunds for them are decided case by case, with a target of seven business days.
Users in the EEA, UK and Switzerland have a 14-day right to withdraw, which may be lost once you start using the service.
Crypto payments are final.
Filing a chargeback without contacting support first may get your account suspended. Support is support@ourdream.ai.

The help center's refund article adds a stricter rule. Nothing is refunded once more than 25% of a product is used, so a monthly plan cannot be refunded once its coins are spent, while a yearly plan may get a full or partial refund. And if you unsubscribe, your images and videos are blurred until you subscribe again.

The terms of service, last modified August 26, 2026, are worth two minutes too. They require disputes to go to individual arbitration and waive class actions, with an opt-out process. They also give OurDream a perpetual, irrevocable license to the content you submit and generate.

A note on other OurDream AI reviews

Most of the reviews ranking for OurDream are, like this one, written by sites that earn from sign-ups. Several I read had no read date, quoted prices that don't match OurDream's current pricing, or claimed hands-on testing while listing no sources. Whichever review you trust, check its date and whether it links OurDream's own pages.

Verdict: who OurDream AI suits, and who should skip it

OurDream AI suits an adult who wants chat, images and video under one plan and expects to stay for months. At $119.88 a year it costs half the monthly rate, and its published rules on minors, real people and consent are clearer than most. It explains its age checks, moderation and coin costs in more detail than many rivals. Start on the monthly plan if you are not sure you will last six months, because the yearly plan is paid upfront and unused time is generally not refunded. Count your coins if video is the draw, since 1,000 a month buys about 50 seconds of standard video. Look elsewhere if strict privacy is the point. The home page promises end-to-end encryption, but its own privacy policy and safety center describe classifiers scanning all content and outside AI providers processing your messages. The free plan is thin. Free chat costs a coin per message, images need a subscription, and the starting balance isn't published.
