The best PolyBuzz alternatives are 18+ apps whose own rules allow adult content between adults, which PolyBuzz's terms forbid. SpicyChat is the closest match, since users build and share characters there too. JanitorAI is the best free option for text. OurDream.ai suits adults who want images and video, and CrushOn publishes the most detailed limits.
I compared six apps on the checks from our PolyBuzz review: age rules, content rules, free tier, price, privacy and refunds. Every figure below comes from each app's own pages or its US App Store listing, read on November 1, 2026.
Apps like PolyBuzz at a glance
| App | Pick it if you want | Free tier | Paid plans from | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SpicyChat | A library of user-made characters | Free accounts; limits not published | $5.95 a month or $60 a year | Photorealistic images banned |
| JanitorAI | Free text roleplay | Free, about 9k context | $12.99 a month or $99 a year | No pornographic images |

| Candy AI | One companion you design in detail | 5 messages | £13.99 a month or £47.88 a year, from the UK | Refunds only within 24 hours |
How I picked them
I started from what people search after PolyBuzz: apps like PolyBuzz, a PolyBuzz alternative that allows adult content, and free options. Each app had to pass three tests on its own pages. It must say it is for adults only, its rules must allow adult content between adult characters, and it must publish its prices. I read each app's pricing page, terms or guidelines, and its US App Store listing where it has one, all on November 1, 2026. I did not create accounts, so nothing here describes using these apps. The checks are on our how we review page.
PolyBuzz itself fails the first two tests. I also left out apps whose own pages do not say adult content is allowed, whatever other reviews claim about them.
Is PolyBuzz NSFW?
No. PolyBuzz's terms ban content that depicts pornography or sexual acts, including sexual nudity, and its FAQ says it strictly prohibits public display of NSFW content. Characters flagged for pornography become visible only to their creator, and the terms say violations are recorded and may be passed to government authorities. The apps below are separate services whose own rules allow adult content between adults, and none of them is a way around PolyBuzz's rules.
Age is the other reason to look elsewhere. PolyBuzz's terms set a minimum age of 18, but its FAQ describes a Teen Mode built for children and Google Play rates the app Mature 17+. Every app on this list says on its own pages that it is for adults only.
Why look past PolyBuzz
Beyond content and age, PolyBuzz's own pages give three more reasons to compare:
- Nothing is refunded. Section 9.9 of its terms says payments are not refunded, even after you cancel.
- Its privacy claims disagree. The FAQ calls chats completely private, while the terms let PolyBuzz use your content for product analysis and the privacy policy names the Chat-GPT platform among the third parties it shares with.
- Free limits are not published. Unlimited chats and ad-free use are listed as member perks, and Google Play says the app contains ads.
The 6 best PolyBuzz alternatives for adults
1. SpicyChat: the closest match to PolyBuzz
SpicyChat works the way PolyBuzz does, with users creating and sharing chatbots. Its community guidelines require every user to be at least 18 and every chatbot to be portrayed as an adult over 18. Chatbots with explicit language or imagery must be marked NSFW, photorealistic images that could pass for real people are banned, and bots with a youthful demeanour are judged case by case even if listed as adults.
Its pricing FAQ lists three tiers since September 8, 2026. Get A Taste is $5.95 a month or $60 a year, True Supporter is $19.95 or $199.95, and I'm All In is $29.95 or $299.95. Euro prices match the dollar figures. Free accounts exist, but the pages I read did not set out their limits.
2. JanitorAI: the best free option for text
JanitorAI's janitor+ page says "Free stays free", and a note from its founder says the free version is not going anywhere. Free accounts get about 9k context. janitor+ costs $12.99 a month or $99 a year, about $8.25 a month, for five times more context, faster replies when the site is busy and more models.
Its content guidelines, updated February 4, 2026, permit adult content between consenting adult characters. Users under 18 are prohibited, suspected minors are banned permanently, and characters must be physically and mentally over 18. The trade is images. Pornographic images and images of sexual activity are not permitted, so JanitorAI is a text app first.
3. OurDream.ai: for images and video
OurDream suits a different need from PolyBuzz. It centres on creating a companion and generating images and video of them. Its site is marked adults only, with an 18+ confirmation, and its FAQ says you can generate adult images and videos of your companion. Plans cost $19.99 a month or $119.88 a year, which works out to $9.99 a month.
Images and video are metered. OurDream's help center says subscribers chat on its standard models at no coin cost, but its Genius models cost 1 dreamcoin per reply, two standard images cost 10 coins, and video costs 100 coins per 5 seconds. The monthly plan gives 1,000 coins at once and 1,000 each month after, and the yearly plan gives 2,000 at once, then 1,000 a month. A month's 1,000 coins covers about 200 standard images or 50 seconds of video. Free users pay 1 coin per message, need a plan for images and video, and can only buy coins with a subscription.
The downsides are real. Its home page claims end-to-end encryption, but its privacy policy describes AES encryption at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit, which is a weaker promise. Nothing is refunded once more than 25% of a product is used, monthly plans cannot be refunded once their coins are spent, and crypto payments are never refunded. Disputes go to individual arbitration unless you opt out, and I found no app store link on its site. Our OurDream AI review covers each point.
4. CrushOn: the most detailed published limits
CrushOn's pricing page sets out every limit. Free accounts get 100 message credits a month, 8K memory, 200 saved messages per character and 20 inspiration replies a day, and their chat history is deleted after 7 days of inactivity. Standard costs $5.99 a month or $58.88 a year, about $4.90 a month, for 2,000 credits and 16K memory models. Tiers run up to Imperial at $199.99 a month, with 24K memory from Elite up.
Its community guidelines say CrushOn is only for users 18 and older, permit implied sexual activity and ask users to avoid depicting explicit sexual activity. Human moderators and automated systems both review content, and aged-up characters are banned. So CrushOn sets firmer limits than the "No Filter" in its page title suggests.
5. Nomi: for a companion that remembers
Nomi sells itself on memory, with "Human-Level Memory" on its home page. It is free to start with no credit card, and it says its AI should "remain unfiltered and uncensored". Its terms bar anyone under 18, and the US App Store rates it 18+ with content restrictions.
On the App Store, the Standard Plan costs $15.99 a month, $39.99 a quarter or $99.99 a year, and a Launch Plan costs $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year. Credit packs start at 40 credits for $4.99. Its terms say there are no refunds or credit for partial months, so use the free start before you commit.
6. Candy AI: one companion, designed in detail
Candy suits someone who wants to design a single companion. Its home page promises "uncensored fantasy experiences", as long as roleplay stays fictional, consenting and within its Community Guidelines, and its Underage Policy requires users to affirm they are over 18. Its subscription page showed me £13.99 a month after a £9.99 first month, £26.97 for three months or £47.88 a year from the UK.
Its free tier is short. The terms say free users may generally send a maximum of 5 messages, and refunds must be requested within 24 hours of paying. Our Candy AI review covers its token costs and privacy terms.
Is there a free PolyBuzz alternative?
Yes, for text. JanitorAI says free stays free and gives free accounts about 9k context. CrushOn's free plan gives 100 message credits a month, Nomi is free to start, and SpicyChat has free accounts. Images are another matter. OurDream needs a subscription for images and video, Candy's free plan stops at 5 messages, and JanitorAI bans pornographic images. Our guide to free AI girlfriend apps goes further on free tiers.
What apps like PolyBuzz cost
| App and plan | Monthly | Yearly | Per month, paid yearly |
|---|---|---|---|
| PolyBuzz Basic | £9.90 | £99 | £8.25 |
| CrushOn Standard | $5.99 | $58.88 | $4.90 |
| SpicyChat Get A Taste | $5.95 | $60 | $5.00 |
| Nomi Launch Plan | $9.99 | $59.99 | $5.00 |
| janitor+ | $12.99 | $99 | $8.25 |
| OurDream.ai | $19.99 | $119.88 | $9.99 |
| Candy AI | £13.99, first month £9.99 | £47.88 | £3.99 |
PolyBuzz and Candy showed prices in pounds because I checked from the UK, and the others list dollars, so expect your own currency at checkout. PolyBuzz Basic costs £9.90 a month, while CrushOn and SpicyChat start just under $6. The bigger difference is refunds. PolyBuzz refunds nothing, Nomi gives no credit for partial months, and OurDream refunds nothing once more than 25% is used, so a year paid up front is a commitment almost everywhere.

Before you leave PolyBuzz
Check three things first:
- Cancel where you paid. On Android or iPhone that means Google Play or the App Store. On the web, PolyBuzz's terms point to Settings, then Help Center. Benefits last until the paid period ends, and nothing is refunded.
- Spend your coins and opals first. The terms say payments made under its rates and policies will not be refunded, so unused balances are simply lost.
- Delete the account if you are not coming back. Go to Setting, then Account, then Delete. Deletion cannot be undone, and PolyBuzz requires no open disputes, no unpaid charges and an expired membership first.
Whichever app you move to, keep real names, addresses and photos of real people out of your chats. Our guide to whether AI companion apps are safe covers the wider risks.
Verdict: the best PolyBuzz alternative for you
For most adults leaving PolyBuzz because its rules ban adult content, SpicyChat is the best PolyBuzz alternative. It works the same way, with user-made characters, and its guidelines allow chatbots marked NSFW as long as every user and character is an adult. Its entry tier costs $5.95 a month. If you want to stop paying, JanitorAI is the strongest free option for text, though it bans pornographic images. If images and video of your companion matter most, OurDream.ai fits best, but weigh three facts. We earn from it, its encryption claim is stronger on its home page than in its policy, and images and video spend a monthly allowance of 1,000 dreamcoins. CrushOn suits heavy text users who want published limits, Nomi suits people who value memory, and Candy suits someone designing one companion. Every pick here is for adults only, which PolyBuzz's own pages do not consistently promise.
Try a companion built for adults
If you want images and video of your companion on an adults-only site, the Crushella home page lets you pick a look and a mood for your AI girlfriend, then continue to OurDream.ai to chat with her. Sign-up is free. For roleplay-first apps, see our guide to the best AI chatbots for roleplay.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best PolyBuzz alternative?
For adults who want the same kind of user-made character library, SpicyChat is the closest match, from $5.95 a month, and its guidelines allow chatbots marked NSFW when every user and character is an adult. JanitorAI is the strongest free option for text. OurDream.ai suits people who want images and video of a companion, and CrushOn publishes the most detailed limits.
Are there apps like PolyBuzz that allow adult content?
Yes, for adults. SpicyChat allows chatbots marked NSFW, JanitorAI permits adult content between consenting adult characters, and CrushOn permits implied sexual activity. OurDream.ai and Candy AI allow adult roleplay under their own rules, and Nomi says its AI stays unfiltered. Every one of them says it is for adults only and sets its own limits, so read its rules before you pay.
Is PolyBuzz NSFW?
No. PolyBuzz's terms ban content that depicts pornography or sexual acts, including sexual nudity, and its FAQ says it strictly prohibits public display of NSFW content. Characters flagged for pornography are hidden from everyone but their creator, and the terms say violations may be passed to government authorities. Adults who want adult roleplay need a separate 18+ app whose own rules allow it.
Is there a free alternative to PolyBuzz?
Yes, for text. JanitorAI is free with about 9k context, and its janitor+ page says free stays free. CrushOn's free plan gives 100 message credits a month, Nomi is free to start with no card, and SpicyChat has free accounts. Images usually need a plan. OurDream requires a subscription for images and video, and Candy's free tier stops at 5 messages.
Is PolyBuzz for adults only?
Not consistently. Its terms say users must be 18 and that minors are prohibited worldwide, and UK users face age checks run by Ondato or Yoti. Yet its FAQ describes a Teen Mode built for children, and Google Play rates the app Mature 17+. Every alternative on this list says on its own pages that it is for adults only.
Is OurDream AI a good PolyBuzz alternative?
It fits a different need. OurDream is adults only and lets you generate images and video of a companion, from $19.99 a month or $119.88 a year. Images and video spend dreamcoins from a monthly allowance of 1,000, refunds stop once more than 25% is used, and its encryption claim outruns its privacy policy. We earn a commission from it, so factor that in.
Which PolyBuzz alternative is cheapest?
On a yearly plan, CrushOn Standard at $58.88, Nomi's Launch Plan at $59.99 and SpicyChat's Get A Taste at $60 are the cheapest dollar plans here. Candy's yearly plan showed £47.88 from the UK, and PolyBuzz Basic showed £9.90 a month or £99 a year. Check refund rules too, because several of these apps refund little or nothing.
