PolyBuzz Review 2026: Is It Free, Safe or NSFW?

PolyBuzz review: AI character chat on a phone beside a notebook, a policy page and a magnifying glass, 18+

PolyBuzz is a free AI character chat app run by Cloud Whale Interactive Technology LLC, a Delaware company. Its terms say you must be 18, yet its FAQ describes a Teen Mode for children. Its rules ban sexual content, so it is not an NSFW app. Paid plans start at £9.90 a month, and payments are not refunded.

This PolyBuzz review answers the questions people search most: is PolyBuzz free, is it safe, and is PolyBuzz NSFW, all from PolyBuzz's own pages.

PolyBuzz review: the short version

Everything in this table comes from PolyBuzz's website, FAQ, membership page, terms of use, privacy policy and Google Play listing, read on November 1, 2026.

How I reviewed it

I did not create an account for this review, so nothing here describes using the app. It is built from PolyBuzz's own published pages, read on November 1, 2026, and the checks on our how we review page. The privacy policy is dated October 27, 2026 and the in-app terms May 18, 2026. The web terms show a date with the year cut short, so I checked them against the in-app copy. Where PolyBuzz does not publish something, I say so instead of borrowing a number from another site.

Is PolyBuzz free?

Yes. PolyBuzz's FAQ says the app is accessible at no cost, with a membership as an option. You can sign up for free with Google, Apple, Facebook or an email address. The same FAQ promises "Free, Private, and Unrestricted" chats with over 20 million characters. Unrestricted there does not mean adult content, which its terms ban.

What the free tier leaves out is not published. The membership page lists unlimited chats, ad-free use and unlimited voice listening as member perks, and Google Play says the app contains ads and in-app purchases. That points to caps and ads for free users, but PolyBuzz does not say where the caps sit. If a generous free start is what you want, our guide to free AI girlfriend apps compares free tiers across adult companion apps.

PolyBuzz pricing: what the membership costs

PolyBuzz lists three plans on its membership page. Checked from the UK on November 1, 2026, it showed:

  • Basic: £9.90 a month, or £99 a year, shown as £8.25 a month
  • Premium: £19.90 a month, or £199 a year
  • Ultimate: £27.90 a month, or £299 a year

Each price sits beside a crossed-out higher figure, such as £55.20 for a month of Basic. I saw pounds because I checked from the UK, so expect your own currency at checkout.

The FAQ says Basic and Premium both include stronger memory models, unlimited voice listening and ad-free use, and that Premium adds more chat models. The membership page names memory options such as Permanent Memory and Long Memory, a set of premium chat models, priority in the chat queue and extra daily avatar generations, 20 on Basic and 30 on Premium and Ultimate.

On top of the plans, PolyBuzz sells two in-app currencies:

  • Coins, from £2.19 for 1,000 to £19.90 for 20,000, spent on voice chat time, regenerated replies, memory scenes, live photos, custom songs and rounds on premium models
  • Opals, from £5.90 for 1,000 to £199.99 for 50,000, which the page pitches for enhanced memory and emotional depth

The pages I read did not say how many coins a voice minute or a premium reply costs. Plans renew automatically.

Is PolyBuzz NSFW?

No. PolyBuzz's terms ban content that depicts pornography or sexual acts, including sexual nudity, and content that solicits sexual activity. They add zero tolerance for anything involving the nudity or exploitation of children. The FAQ says PolyBuzz "strictly prohibit public display of NSFW content", and that recommended content passes multi-layered AI screening and human moderation.

A character can also be flagged as a violation for content related to pornography, minors, inappropriate language or sensitive topics. Once flagged, only its creator can see it. The terms also say violations are recorded on PolyBuzz's back-end systems and may be submitted to government authorities as evidence.

So searches for PolyBuzz NSFW have a short answer. Its own rules do not allow adult content. If you are an adult looking for apps whose rules allow adult content between adults, see our PolyBuzz alternatives or our comparison of the best NSFW AI chat apps.

Age rules: 18 in the terms, a Teen Mode in the FAQ

PolyBuzz's pages do not agree on who the app is for:

  • The web terms say you must be 18 to use PolyBuzz and that minors are strictly prohibited worldwide. The in-app terms and the privacy policy say the same.
  • Everyone, guests included, enters a date of birth at first use. PolyBuzz says it will deny service to anyone it believes is under 18 unless they prove they are an adult.
  • In the UK, PolyBuzz runs mandatory age checks under the Online Safety Act through Ondato and Yoti, which can ask for a date of birth or government ID. It says it does not store your ID, only the result.
  • The FAQ says the app offers graded modes for different age groups and a dedicated Teen Mode built for children.
  • Google Play rates the app Mature 17+.

Put plainly, the terms ban under-18s, but the FAQ describes a mode for children and the store rating starts at 17. Outside the UK, the only check PolyBuzz describes is a date of birth the user types in. Parents should not read the 18+ line in the terms as proof that teenagers are kept out.

On iPhone, the FAQ points users to the App Store. The App Store listing returned a page-not-found error in the US and UK stores, and Apple's store search found no PolyBuzz app in any of the eleven countries I checked.

PolyBuzz's FAQ and its terms tell different stories about your chats.

Is PolyBuzz safe? What happens to your chats

Safe from fraud, mostly yes. Private, less than its FAQ suggests. The FAQ says chats are "completely private" and that neither character creators nor PolyBuzz have access to them. The terms and privacy policy describe something wider:

  • The terms say you authorize PolyBuzz to access and use the content you upload for purposes "including but not limited to product analysis", and that its language model may evolve based on user inputs.
  • PolyBuzz owns the intellectual property in AI-generated content.
  • The privacy policy says it shares information with third parties that help deliver features, "including the Chat-GPT platform".
  • It lists your email, username, uploaded pictures and text, purchase records, device data, logs, precise location and contacts among what it can collect. Its consent prompts mention using photos and precise location to train its AI.
  • Google and AppLovin serve ads, Meta provides analytics, and data can be transferred outside your country.
  • The policy describes SSL for payments through third-party processors and makes no end-to-end encryption claim.

On the plus side, the privacy policy says PolyBuzz does not sell user information and names a data protection officer you can reach at legal@mail.polybuzz.ai. Google Play's data safety section says data is encrypted in transit and you can ask for it to be deleted. Accounts unused for seven years are treated as expired and their personal data deleted. Keep real names, addresses and photos of real people out of your chats. Our guide to whether AI companion apps are safe covers the wider risks.

Is PolyBuzz legit?

Yes, in the sense that a named company stands behind it. The terms name Cloud Whale Interactive Technology LLC, at 300 Delaware Avenue in Wilmington, Delaware, and give support@mail.polybuzz.ai for help. Google Play lists the same company as developer, with more than 50 million downloads and a 4.0 rating from about 1.2 million reviews, last updated October 26, 2026.

The dispute terms are strict. Disputes go to binding, individual arbitration run by the New York International Arbitration Center under Delaware law, with a class action waiver, unless you opt out.

Refunds and how to cancel PolyBuzz

Cancelling is simple, and refunds are not on offer. Section 9.9 of the terms says payments made under its rates and policies "will not be refunded, even if the subscription is subsequently cancelled." The terms also refuse refunds for purchases a child makes by mistake. To stop paying:

  • On Android or iPhone, cancel in Google Play or the App Store, following the steps in PolyBuzz's FAQ.
  • On the web, the terms say to go to Settings, then Help Center.
  • Your member benefits last until the end of the period you paid for.
  • To delete the account, go to Setting, then Account, then Delete. It cannot be undone, and it needs no open disputes, no unpaid charges and an expired membership.

Because nothing is refunded, use the free tier before you buy a yearly plan.

PolyBuzz vs OurDream AI

Since our home page sends people to OurDream, here is how the two compare on their own published pages:

PolyBuzz wins on a free start and a character library of over 20 million. OurDream fits an adult who wants adult roleplay, since its rules allow it and PolyBuzz's do not. OurDream has real downsides too. Its home page claims end-to-end encryption that its own privacy policy does not describe, images and video draw on a monthly allowance of 1,000 dreamcoins, and a monthly plan cannot be refunded once its coins are used.

Verdict: who PolyBuzz suits, and who should skip it

PolyBuzz suits someone who wants free, casual chats with a huge library of user-made characters and is happy with a platform that bans sexual content. It is run by a named Delaware company, it is free to start, and its paid plans begin at £9.90 a month from the UK. Four things count against it. Its pages disagree on age, with an 18+ rule in the terms, a Teen Mode in the FAQ and a Mature 17+ rating on Google Play. Its FAQ calls chats completely private, while its terms let it use your content for product analysis and its privacy policy names the Chat-GPT platform among the third parties it shares with. Nothing is refunded, even after you cancel. And disputes go to individual arbitration unless you opt out. Skip it if you are an adult looking for adult roleplay, because its rules forbid it and its terms say violations are recorded.

It is run by a named Delaware company and Google Play says data is encrypted in transit, so it is safe from fraud. It is less private than its FAQ claims. Its FAQ, though, describes a Teen Mode built for children, and Google Play rates the app Mature 17+. Outside the UK, the main check is a date of birth typed in at first use.

How much is PolyBuzz membership?

No. Section 9.9 of PolyBuzz's terms says payments will not be refunded, even if you cancel the subscription later, and purchases a child makes by mistake are not refunded either. Cancel in Google Play or the App Store, or on the web through Settings and the Help Center, and your benefits run to the end of the paid period.
